"My intention has always been to seek truth. Everyone has it. You go inside yourself, and it is there, like a perfect peace. It eliminates worry and fear."
- Demetra

Past Successes
Over a short time Demetra has made a name for herself in the music industry.  Since her sold out multimedia album release show at the Cinematheque on January 25th, 2012 and the official digital release of her album 'Lone Migration', Demetra has been climbing CBC and campus radio charts, getting reviews in weeklies across Canada, and her new album was even reviewed during the Polaris Prize Salon in Winnipeg.

In 2012 alone her music reached #2 on Exclaim! Earshot folk and roots charts, as well as 6 weeks on the CBC R3-30 countdown eventually cracking the top 10 at #7.  Her music has been receiving great feedback from radio listeners across Canada, USA, and even the U.K. She was featured in and graced the covers of both the Uniter and Uptown Magazine (annual Local Heroes edition) as well as reviewed in weeklies across Canada such as Now! Toronto, the Montreal Mirror, and Exclaim.

Since January 2012 has been selected to play an official festival showcase with Manitoba Music, and was part of the Winnipeg Folk Festival Library series playing a workshop style concert with Vanessa Kuzina from 'Oh My Darling', and Andrina Turrene from 'Chic Gamine'.

Demetra played a solo show at the Winnipeg Jazz Festival in June 2012, and at the Brandon Folk Festival in July.  She later travelled to Salmon Arm to play their coveted Roots and Blues Festival in August, returning to Manitoba to play the Harvest Moon festival in September.

In 2011 alone she played several local shows including a Multimedia show commissioned by the West End Cultural Centre, a Folk Festival showcase, a songwriters night with Keri Latimer, and a solo show at Times Changed High and Lonesome Club.  On April 8th she opened for Hawksley Workman at the WECC.  The Winnipeg Folk Festival put on the show and went out of their way to include Demetra on the bill.  The show was sold out and very well received.

In the Spring of 2011 Demetra was nominated for the Winnipeg Arts Council "On the Rise" award.  In May and June she made an Eastern Canada tour with Ingrid Gatin to Newfoundland and back, playing over 40 shows throughout their travels.

In July 2011, Demetra was busy contributing to local festivals.  She played a ukulele workshop at Brandon Folk Festival with Mathius Kom of "The Burning Hell,' as well as an art installation featuring photographs from her album art, had a self made music video for her song 'Maiden of Ice' screened at the Gimli and opened for Minniapolis band 'Dark Dark Dark' at the WECC.

Demetra participated in the Winnipeg Folk Festivals upcoming culture days and was featured in their library series.

Demetra has contributed to the local WMCA nominated compilation record  'Record of the Week Club' and the 'Manitoba Folkways' recording project.
